Next Steps

1
Talk To God

First, begin to pray – just talk to God be open and honest.  It might feel awkward but simply talk to Jesus and ask Him to help you know what to do, to help you to understand

2
Read His Word

Second, you need a Bible.  The most important book in the world.  Read from the New Testament first.  The story of Jesus from Matthew, Mark , Luke or John is the best place to learn more about Jesus.

The Bible is the story of God’s restorative love of His creation, made real through Jesus Christ, and realized by the power of His Holy Spirit through ordinary human beings, like us! But unless we open it up, begin to read, and discover the beauty of God’s Story in our story, we’re going to miss out on what God is doing in the world!

3
Come To His Church

Third, come to church.  A church is not so much the building as the gathering of God’s people together for His purposes.  At the Potters House Christian Church in St Marys there are many people with tremendous stories of how Jesus came into their lives.  You will be encouraged and make lifelong friends with other children of God as you faithfully commit to being part of Jesus’ church.

4
Become a Disciple

Jesus called for people to become disciples. He wanted people to follow Him.

A disciple is a learner, a close follower, an imitator of a master. Mastering the disciplines of the Christian life modeled by Jesus and the early church involves determination, courage and the help of others.  The aim is to become the person that God wants us to be.

He said to them, “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:19
